to the Millennial Era.
Our local hosts are the ancient universities of Bologna and Padova with Prof Samuele Marcora as Local Congress President and Prof Marco Narici as Local Congress Vice President. Both universities are among the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe, hosting up to 82,000 students and offering several hundred degrees in various disciplines. Rimini, whose origins date back to 268 BC as the Roman Ariminum, lies on the Adriatic coast and has a historic centre with ancient Roman monuments, Renaissance squares and architectural wonders. In 2003, the Wellness Valley was established, comprising 250 seaside resorts, a series of parks with pedestrian and cycle paths and sport facilities focussing on wellness and quality of life. Although Rimini is a smaller city with about 150,000 inhabitants, it offers an attractive and varied entertainment programme, ranging from historical programmes to its famous and vibrant nightlife, attracting thousands of tourists every year.
