We kindly ask you to pre-book your lunches for ECSS Glasgow 2024 and register your participation at the Opening and Farewell Receptions, the Bengt Saltin Run and the Friday Night Party.
After having paid your congress registration fee, please enter your ECSS account, scroll down to the section ‘myCongress’ and click on ‘myCongress Bookings’ to register for the different options.
Please note that all presenting authors must pay their congress fee by 26 April. If we do not receive a payment by this date, your abstract will be removed from the programme and cannot be presented in Glasgow.
Lunches & Receptions
Although lunches and receptions are included in your congress registration fee, you cannot be served lunch nor will you be able to attend receptions if you have not pre-booked! Dietary requirements (meat/fish, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, lactose free) can also be indicated whilst pre-booking. Other dietary restrictions can be specified when booking lunch.
- Lunches will be served from Wednesday to Friday. Please see the menu here.
- Hot drinks will be provided free of charge throughout the day from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00.
- Water stations are distributed throughout the congress venue. Please bring your own bottle and help us to avoid waste.
- The Welcome Reception will take place in the SportEx area, directly after the Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, 2 July. Complimentary welcome drinks will be served.
- The Farewell Reception will be a Civic Reception hosted by The Rt Hon The Lord Provost of Glasgow and take place after the Closing Ceremony on Friday, 5 July in the Glasgow Science Centre. Complimentary welcome drinks and finger food will be served.

Bengt Saltin Run
The 8th Bengt Saltin Charity Run will take place during ECSS Glasgow 2024 (2-5 July) to honour Professor Bengt Saltin, a Founding Member and Patron of the European College of Sport Science. Under the motto of a social run, the event is organised by ECSS in collaboration with the University of the West of Scotland.
We will run in the Kelvingrove Park on Thursday, 4 July at 07:00! The total distance 5.4 km (3.4 miles) and the route will be marked by volunteers. Please find further information about the run on our Bengt Saltin Run website and within the registration portal in your ECSS account.
Please note, the run is limited to a maximum of 300 participants allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Only those who are registered can participate in the run and all funds raised from this event will be donated to ‘Scottish Disability Sport’.
Registration will close as soon as the run is fully booked and no later than 31 May 2024!
Friday Night Party
This year’s Friday Night Party will take place at Platform on Friday, 5 July, after the Farewell Reception. Doors open at 21:00 and cash bars for drinks will be operating. Be early and participate in our special programme: A Scottish ceilidh band will be present and start their interactive programme at 21:30. Do not miss to participate in this traditional Scottish cultural activity! There will also be a seating area with low music volume where people can sit together and chat. Please find further information on the Friday Night Party within the registration portal in your ECSS account. Time to party together in the European Capital of Sport of 2023 to the beats of DJ Raki! Please bring your congress badge with you, as it is (along with your ID) your official ticket to the Friday Night Party.
