Dear [NAME],
The Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) is proud to release its tenth open access supplement in Sports Medicine featuring guest editor Dr. Lawrence L. Spriet.
GSSI has been bringing sports nutrition and sports science researchers together for nearly four decades to discuss many topics that relate to the nutrition, performance and well-being of athletes.
This year’s supplement reviews the use of carbohydrates to improve soccer skill, the importance of vitamins and minerals for athletic performance and when supplements may be needed in athletic populations. It also reviews the use of buffering agents and creatine supplements to improve sports performance at the skeletal muscle and brain level, as well as approaches to avoid inadvertent anti-doping violations. Furthermore, the supplement includes a perspective on the value of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) for athletic performance and health, and concludes by examining the use of technology to collect many forms of data from elite athletes while training and competing.
This complimentary content can be found online here.
Yours in Sport Science,
The ECSS and GSSI
